In November 2019, in response to the recent epidemic of police violence in subway stations and Gov. Cuomo's decision to flood 500 more cops into our transit system, the Justice Committee (JC) and our allies hit the subways to train our communities to CopWatch. Last month the MTA put their stamp of approval on Gov. Cuomo's plan. This is absolutely unacceptable! So it’s time for Round 2!
We're calling on our grassroots ally orgs and New Yorkers of color who have been through a Justice Committee, Peoples’ Justice/CopWatch Alliance training to join us.
Justice Committee is organizing Subway CopWatch Trainings to empower New Yorkers to deter, de-escalate, and document police violence. CopWatch is also one step in the larger fight to rollback Gov. Cuomo’s plan to bring 500 additional cops into our transit system and build a strong #NoNewCops movement.
